About the Catalogue Raisonné

Michele Oka Doner: A Catalogue Raisonné

Michele Oka Doner: A Catalogue Raisonné is an ongoing scholarly research project to document the complete body of work by the artist Michele Oka Doner — sculpture in bronze, ceramic, and precious metal; jewelry; works on paper; and public installations — spanning seven decades of practice.

Organized chronologically and by material, the Catalogue Raisonné records each work's title, medium, dimensions, date, provenance, exhibition history, and literature, with the aim of establishing a single, authoritative record of the artist's output.

The Catalogue Raisonné is compiled and maintained by the artist's studio, drawing on the studio's own archive together with documentation gathered from galleries, museums, and private collections. As research continues, entries are added and revised to reflect newly identified works and newly confirmed information about works already on record.

Call for Works

Michele Oka Doner Studio has an open call for works across the artist's seven decades of practice. The Studio seeks to build a complete and accurate record of Michele Oka Doner's work, and invites owners, galleries, and institutions who hold a work by the artist to submit information and photographic documentation for inclusion in this research.

This call for works will supplement the Studio's current research and inform the Catalogue Raisonné's ongoing publication. Please include, where available:

  • The work's title (if known) and a brief description
  • Medium and dimensions
  • Approximate date or period
  • Provenance — how and when the work was acquired
  • Exhibition history, if any
  • Clear photographs of the work overall, and of any inscriptions, signatures, or markings

Submitted materials will become part of the Studio's archive. All private owner and contact information will be treated confidentially and will not be published without permission — you may request that your name and contact information specifically be kept confidential using the checkbox on the form.

Please submit using the form below. If you have a PDF exhibition catalog, a large number of images, or would simply prefer not to use the form, you may instead email info@micheleokadoner.com directly.
